Chocolate Addict Smoothie
Here is another indulgent smoothie recipe for those special occasions but with no guilt on the side!
If you don't mind sacrificing aesthetics for nutrition, you can add more leafy greens to this, to maximise its nutrient density, it will just turn it a different colour.
Into a high speed/powered blender (such as NutriBullet, MagicBullet or Vitamix) combine:
2 bananas
1 kale leaf (hard stalks removed)
1/3 cup raw cacao
protein powder (I used: The Healthy Chef: Organic Pea Protein - Chocolate & Maca)
2 tablespoons of chia seeds
a little chug of maple syrup
coconut milk to desired consistency (I used: Pure Harvest: CocoQuench)
ice cubes
Blend, serve as is or put less coconut milk and make it into a smoothie bowl, topped with chopped banana, almonds and cacao nibs.
